5 yrs. ago my mother A'H went in for minor surgery and never came home. She was in her 70's and had a good health record except for vascular problems. After surgery no one bothered to inform us how urgent it was for a patient to walk around and when the doctors came around on the third day and realized this they made her walk with them. She fell down, and within the next few hours our nightmare began. It seems a blood clot had formed and traveled perhaps to her lung, I'm not sure, my brother is familiar with the details.The doctors worked on her for a long time and brought her back and she was put into icu where my siblings heard the doctors warn the nurses it was very fragile and a nurse must sit there and watch her vitals verycarefully. At the change of shifts this was not given over and our sibling that was there at the time panicked as he glanced at the blood pressure reading which seemed low to him.
